Is this legit? Is it worth my buying just for the glass and trim and taillights?
*disclaimer* I know nothing about Porsches

To start, that is not a 911.

Lol. this has to be a scam I refuse to believe that some one can get the name of their own car wrong.

That’s a Porsche 944.....

1) Not a 911. It’s a 944. 2) I’d check about a title. Might be stolen. 3) Mold can be nasty stuff. 4) Probably a lot of hassle for a part-out. Good LeMons car, though.

The most interesting “911” in the world right there!\
If you can actually buy that for $500 I say do it. It’s worth more in parts. Stef may want the hatch and rear shocks. Or not..

The *custom* paint colour is a red flag too

Mmmm, LeMons! You can’t buy a car here in BC without the previous registered owner signing the registration slip, so that’s not such a worry.
Yes, I realized when it said “4 cylinders”

If it’s not a scam I’m pretty sure just the wheels are worth around 500

Not to mention, the single terrible picture.

Pretty sure that’s a Lambo, dude.

Correct.
It’s a Golf.

I waited 10 minutes. Did you buy it? It’s a $500 “911” 944 in California.

Must be a 911 made to look like a 944.

My brother bought one for $800 running (needed clutch, maintenance), and another for $650 with a blown timing chain and bent valves, otherwise perfect. Also, it’s a 944, at that price probably NOT the more desirable turbo. You have to drop the rear end to change the clutch and it is RWD, front engine, not like a 911. The NA driveline can’t handle the turbo power, different gearbox.

Pretty sure it’s a Lambo, bro!

I’m not going to buy it, it’s all you!

That’s certainly something worth considering!

Hell no! Shipping for a Non-Runner to Chicago would be around $1000. I’ve learned my lesson. Shop Local!

Dude, that means you never looked at any local classifieds anywhere. I mean, For fuck sakes, the make and model is written on the back of your car, how can you spell that(and sadly sometimes both make and model.!) wrong?
Sometimes, I feel sad for humanity when I browse the classifieds. Some ads you actually question what language it is written in, then you get that the words are written by sound.

The Porsche 912 was basically a 4 cylinder 911. Most people, when looking at a 912, would confuse it for a 911.

It’s probably a scam or mistake but at that price forces you to take a look if you live in that town. Hmmmm, seems similar to the beginning of the From Russia With Love James Bond movie.

Clearly you’ve never shopped for a ‘Camero’ or a ‘Nissan Ultima’.
